72 3 speed in ca

Looks pretty descent from here. Nicer to get it for $6000 bit I would do it if it's had the rust repair done right and like said runs good.

I talked to the seller and he is firm on the price. Said it was 8500 but just wants it gone so he lowered the price. I asked about rust and got the "No, well a little under the car". I just looked at one that said no and there was bad rot all over body and frame! Its getting so aggravating driving all over to look at these cars only to find out there not even remotely as advertised.

Not all People are Car experts ( and some really dumb ) ...

Im going to say Im smart, but Knowledge is Power ( and thats Why I have Joined the Site, way back when ) ....

They just judge at what they see and give it an estimate .....

They dont know at what so called repair(s) cost nor they think its more than 30 years old, they expect top $$

Thats where you go and see the car in person ( or someone in that area to look at it for you, hopefully a car person ) to get a better judgement of the vehicle ..... Sometimes it involves traveling to find that Perfect Candidate and being happy with it, once its done .....

I posted a while back a clean one owner car in California that sold for $6700 I believe. I would have bought that car sight unseen as is the way I bought my 72 from California.

This car I would want it inspected either by myself or a friend if I was interested in it.

You Sir are a brave man. I have looked at plenty of cars that were nice in photos but were held together with bondo and undercoating when viewed in person.
Not giving up, just frustrated and venting.

The one I spoke of that sold was a clean car. When I get that gut feeling and call the owner, I can usually make up my mind from there. My car is a zero rust car and I believe the one I posted was also.

I do have a question I ask -"Is there any rust now or ever? Some will ask what does that mean, well it's pretty self explanatory. I am anal about rusty cars myself. I have cut, welded, done the body work myself, but I was looking for a super clean car to start with when I bought this 72. All my Novas actually have been zero rust cars.
