Steve's Nova Site is an automotive enthusiast website dedicated to the 1962 - 1979 Chevrolet Nova, Chevy II and Acadian automobiles. We work together to preserve, restore, drive, show, race and provide fellowship for these classic cars. This is one of the best places to find information about parts, rebuilding, restoration and racing. This website is not affiliated with GM, General Motors or Chevrolet in any capacity.
Hi,my name is John, from southern Ontario(rust belt).Have been into cars all my life and presently have my 4th Xbody, all 66/67 but my 1st Acadian;a SD Canso,#274 of 552 built. I wish it could speak, has a very interesting story to tell. Bought as a 66 Nova(11537) SS,only to find out what it really is a 71837 car.
Thanks guys. It was a learning experience to get it back to an Acadian. Two of the owners had died and only family are left.Somehow it got registered as a Nova in 1989.GM Historical revealed it's born with VIN,which IBC re-attatched at a COST! I lost my username/password for this site, just got it back today. Will try and post more pics. Thanks again John
Hi John and welcome to Stevesnovasite. Lots of Acadians owners here, too. Unbelievable how some of these Acadians become 'Novas' and then get lost in the system. There was a 66 Invader 2 door sedan here in Abbotsford that was totally converted to a Chevy II 100 series. Nobody knew it wasn't a Chevy II until the owner advertised it for sale as an Acadian. Fortunately, the VIN and cowl tag hadn't been tampered with.

Hey Bob,fortunately my cowl tag was left in place and this told me what it really is with the help from a fellow in Alberta who has a sister car to mine.I did not think I would get anywhere with GM Historical because they ask for a Vin when applying, all I had was a Chevy II vin that did not jive with the cowl tag,but George Z. found a delivery sheet with all my cowl tag info and it's born with serial #. Happy days!!!!

Good 'ol George and thank goodness for those 'Vehicles Shipped Sheets.' Looking up the body number from your cowl tag would give him all the info on your car including the VIN. Good stuff and glad it worked out for you.
