Street single turbo SBC

I am about to finish my 355/TH350 conversion of my 65.

I'm just dreaming right now as I am looking at all the EBAY single turbo kits for my 9.5 compression stock mild V8 .

Has anyone thrown one of these on a stock carb motor with success?

Bring it on!

First thing is you will need a blow threw carb. 9.5 compression will be fine for your motor just with a mild stock sb keep the boost down to about 10 psi and you will be fine. You are better off doing some reading and no wasting you money on the Ebay junk kits and build what you need yourself. Buy a good turbo, headers, ect. You can find all of the pieces.

I totally realize you just don't bolt on and get 500hp. But if I leave my 355 4 bolt main motor totally stock and add parts necessary, blow thru carb, turbo header and all the Turbo pieces could I expect
500hp?

It still depends on a lot of things. What kind of heads? Do you have flow numbers? What cam? Specs on the cam? Without knowing that you could go with a 76mm turbo, T4 flange and you would be close to the 500 mark with tuning.
