Here is some updated pics. No more orange and purple. She will be a "rat rod" until I can afford to paint her right. We turned the "lighter" into a starter button and used the actual lighter knob. It is in line with the other knows and actually is counter sunk into the dash. The seats are all mounted and are very comfortable.
I have a 63 wagon Iam gonna buy wheels and tires for. Just need to know what sizes to put on. Wheel diam., width, back spacing? What size tires front and rear. Love what you have on yours, stance looks great. Any rubbing issues? Thanks for your help.
Yep, It is on the road. I will be at Chillibombers on 51st and Bell Fri night after work. I live close to there. I drive it to work once in a while and have been to the pavillions once. It needs to have the brakes and suspension done very badly. I am ordering the front end stuff this week. Next month I will order the CBR rear springs. The car runs strong though. I didn't build the motor, I bought it the way it is. It badly needed the carb tuned when I got it. I am surprised I remembered how to do that! Been a LONG time!
As for the starter button. We used a generic button from O'Rielly and drilled a hole so we could thread the original lighter knob onto it. The we recessed the button into the dash using plumbing parts. (brass) We cut a brass nut down to very thin. We used chrome paint, yes chrome paint, to make it match the other components. And presto, it is level with the other knobs and functions. My buddy is like a redneck McGyver! I think it is pretty cool. We are going to make a panel for the switches when we rewire the car. The radio knob hole is temporary!
Is that one of the pull to start switches? Ingenious idea!
It is a push start. It just sits flush and pushes "into" the dash. It took us a week to figure out a way to make it work. The poor folks at Ace HArdware had to deal with us a lot. I think they believe we are crazy.

Thanks. It needs everything but it runs good and drives ok. I like the old rat rod look it has for now. Once everything else is done I will take it apart to paint it. I now have a goal after seeing a certain 63 with an LSII tonight. Damn that car is purdy! It was nice to meet some cool car folks!
