DIY Disk brake kit? 69 nova

I lost all my bookmarks due to a pc issue and can't seem to find through google a thread about how to make your own disk brake setup, this ring a bell to anyone? Pretty sure you would purchase the brackets made by a fellow car enthusiast, then there was a parts list of what to buy at the autoparts store and it was a good amount cheaper than getting a no named ebay kit.

Any help is appreciated,

Blake

Any budget minded ideas that arent the "LS swap" or cannibalizing cars at the scrapyard?

Is there any bolt ons out there cheaper than this? Looks pretty complete. Thoughts?

$472 shipped

Here is one ended, but he has more

http://www.ebay.com/itm/170918673268...84.m1423.l2649

Just have to add master cylinder. I bought a corvette style dual reservoir with proportioning lines and valve for $85 and need the rest next year myself.
My master looks just like the one in your Ebay listing RatNova71.

Ok...so we're looking at $365 shipped... but manual disc and not power disc correct?

Correct just manual disc, my little 383 doesn't make enough vacuum and all I want is manual disc. Did my last 71 with Master Power and Brake conversion and I spent around $750.

What is wrong with the LS swap? Badass brakes for tiny bucks. Plus you get to trade in the 14" steelies for something cool!

Nothing wrong with it, but i was under the impression it required 17" wheels... I dont want to be locked in to 17" wheels forever. Did I read something wrong?

Is there a parts/ price list for the LS swap somewhere??
Thanks

Andy

Here's a writeup that I did ages ago for 1st/2nd gen. If you ignore the bit about modifying the spindle boss...should be the same stuff for 3rd gen.

Here is a link on the LS brake swap on a 1 & 2 gen. not much different on a 3 gen other than the front bracket.

http://www.stevesnovasite.com/forums...d.php?t=134295

I went this route and really like the fact that is uses stock parts I can find at any local supplier. I took mine all front and rear from a 99 firebird for 200.00 complete with E-brake cables and lever. I have about 100 more in rebuild parts and 70 for the front bracket. All in all around 400 total.
