Steel Cowl Hood for a 1975 Nova

Hello Y'all...This is my first post and I have read several posts concerning cowl hoods. My 1975 Nova is at the paint shop right now and they are looking for a steel 2" cowl hood for me. I have seen several fiberglass hoods but no steel ones.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.
How good are the Fiberglass ones if I choose to go with one.

Thanks,
Ron

My car is not worthy of pics yet...but it will be soon. LOL

Its been in the family since new....only has 104000 miles on it.
I'm removing the 250 6cyl 3 speed and putting a 350 auto in it.
I have a parts '77 I'm using for the swap.

I'm also removing the bench and putting the buckets from the 77 in it as well as the SS grill that was on the 77. I'm also gonna put in the center console,
Tilt steering column, and the Speedo console that has the Tach and guages.

Welcome to SNS. No shame in any ride. Besides it's cool to see before and after shots. I don't know what the availability is for steel cowl hood is for 4th gens but I did find a steel cowl scoop on Goodmarks web site. Here is the link.

http://www.goodmarkindustries.com/c-512-hood-scoop.aspx

I would like to find one for my 73 as well and considered going with the scoop and having it installed. Good Luck!

No steel hoods for the 4th gen yet. Fiberglass hoods or graft a raised cowl on the stock hood are the only options.

I know, I have seen them on there before. Seems like every one that is selling them on there is just being a middle man to a bigger supplier. I have seen them on Classic Industries and such. Some big dollars tho. over 500 anyways. Hoping to find someone wanting to switch up there hood to a bigger cowl or something and wanting to sell. Just haven't been willing to pull the trigger quite yet. Besides I have been thinking of selling the car. Have to fund a move out of state and I am not going to have anywhere to keep the car when I do move. It's a hard decision, took me a long time to get it and really want to hold onto it. But something has to give.

Thanks for the heads up!

Oh yeah, It's Gifter by the way. I felt like a college prep from the 50's when I read that. You know the kind wearing a big fluffy turtle neck and walking around with there chest all puffed up thinking there S%&t don't stink. I certainly am not that image. In my trucking days I never had a handle when I started out and one of my friends called me Gifter. It stuck. There's a long drawn out story to it tho and makes me chuckle every time I think about it.

Anyway, thanks again.
