I was told these are not the correct bucket seats for our 64SS.
Could it just be the wrong seat trim?
What could they be from and does anyone have pics of the correct seat?
I have heard they are pretty pricey so not sure we will make the effort.

i think those are buick or some thing like that with that trim
Not Chevy II. Could be Impala SS. 63/64 Nova buckets were all vinyl and didn't have over the top chrome trim. This car currently on Ebay is a 1963 Nova 400, but has transplanted 63/64 SS bucket seats. These are what should be in yours.
If you would like to have the original seats. I have a set of '64 SS buckets with brand new covers and a set of black covers that could change colors if needed. I have these for sale. if you need some?

DOES ANYONE KNOW what model/year had the same style of seat. I see a set of 65 corvair on craiglist in my area?
62-65 Corvair bucket seats will indeed accept 63-65 Chevy II/Nova bucket seat covers, however the inner tracks (near tunnel) are not the same as 63-64 Nova.
One other exception is that some Corvair bucket seats have the adjuster lever coming out the side of the seat instead of out the bottom as the Nova seats do. Therefore, the nova covers need to be cut accordingly to acommodate the lever to exit.

Well, we have finally started looking for parts. Most of the body parts are piled in the garage. Thought I would start looking for those seats. Does any one know about what I should pay for some used seats?
smikinbill, I sent you PM just in case your are still available?
I spent quite a bit of time money and gasoline to come up with some answers on Nova bucket seat questions. Corvair seats look the same at a glance but from what I have found they fold straight forward. Nova seats fold forward and towards the center of the car to allow easier access to the back.
The tracks are not the same either. The inner tracks are specific to Novas and I think the mounting holes are roughly 10 1/2". The ones in that pic look close, Corvairs are 15-16". Also the chrome over the top is Impala.

For a 1963 Nova, when you buy foam and seat covers, does it matter that the Corvair bucket seats tilt straight forward instead of tilting on an angle? I would be buying '63 Nova seat covers and foam to be used on '63 Corvair bucket seats.
Also, are inner tracks real hard to find?
I appreciate your knowledge and expertise as none of the seat cover suppliers seem to list Corvair seat covers.

These are still here, still brand new with adjusters.

True for 63-64 Nova but that changed in 1965.
1965 Nova buckets tilt straight forward and are the same width as the Corvair seats.
