Advantages of High Volume Long Shaft Water Pump

So I am looking at buying an edelbrock carb for my car, and the same guy also has a new edelbrock high volume long shaft water pump for sale. What advantages would this have over a stock one?

Thanks

Ummm... None that I can think of. If the stock water pump was providing sufficient cooling then why change.

The only beenies I see is if the pump is lighter because is aluminum. But thats small. And some folks might say its a better pump and will last longer but thats not always the case. Things fail sometimes just cause chit fails. No guarantees.

And again on the small side the high volume pump might take some HP out due to the larger impeller, but again, chump change.

My take on it? Keep it simple, if it works then well.... It works... JR
