question about powerglide output shaft

ok so i tried searching and couldn't find a answer to my question.

i am selling my powerglide out of my 65 nova. it had a 194 motor on it.

so i had a guy come over to buy it and he said it had a 16 spline output shaft and he needs the 27 spline output shaft. said it would cost too much ($1300) to change it over.

so my question is what powerglide came with that output shaft and would my pg mount on a sbc motor?
he measured something in the motor side of the tranny that was 12-7/8" long. he said that was good, but the output shaft wasn't correct for him.

might have been an input shaft he was talking about. the thing he counted was on the tail of the tranny that meets up with the drive shaft

The 1962 and 1963 output shafts were 11 1/4" and had 16 splines. In 1964 the 11 1/4" output shaft was changed to 27 splines but there were still some 16 splines produced as well. 1965 and newer, all Powerglides were equipped with a 11 1/4" extension housing and 27 spline output shaft.
I'm pretty sure your PG would bolt up to a small block but there were different length input shafts available as well which could also give you a problem.
