Dynomax Race Bullet Mufflers, any good?

These are long round mufflers. I've never had a car with this shape muffler. Do they flow well and are they streatable? I mean I like a deep sound and loud is OK, but are they unbearably loud. With the framerails moved in, this style fits better in my car than the old style. My car only has about 10 inches between the rails and the trans tunnel.

I'm think X pipe kit and this style muffler. Dump in front of the rear tires. Need a nice stainless tip. want one that is 3 inch in but has a big oval out. one's I've seen oval are like 4 inches wide out at the max. I'm thinking something like not very tall and say 6 inches wide. Ideas.

here are the mufflers from Jegs

thanks

i've never had them but several members on here thought they would be able to handle the sound on the street but a lot of them end up thinking they're too loud so i guess its what your definition of "streetable" is

they tone it down a bit (very little), but its still ungodly loud when you get on it. The ultra-flo Ovals quiet it down nice and still sound good. Heres a vid of my transam idling with the 3" Bullets and an x-pipe dumped before the wheels.

As 'Mufflers" No!

I believe them to be as close to open headers as possible.

If your exh dumps under the car. Your ears will be numb in no time.

IMO! I am a old guy now and don't tolerate a over abundance of noise.

a little confused. You say the trans am has the bullets on it. Isn't that the race ones I linked? Sounds good to me but I'm about deaf now. Do the Ultra flo ovals come in the round style I talked about or the normal shape?
thanks

I have two of them on the cavalier...and no they don't quiet it down. The only reason you buy them is to run a "muffler" class. I use them because they do quiet the car when idleing some. If you ever get a chance to look at a dragster with borla's, its very quiet at idle but as soon as you get any throttle they are just basically a piece of pipe.

I know the credits say full single 4" but this video was taken with the dual 3" dynomax bullets and the x-pipe dumped before the wheels.

dynomax ultra-flo ovals. they are straight through unlike those you linked. And they still tone it down a bit and sound good.

stuffs expensive. talked to a guy at Jegs and he said the bullets weren't that bad. That he had them on his truck and liked them. But I think your right, I'm going with something else.

2 of the ovals, two 4 foot pieces of pipe, a couple mandrel bends, an X pipe kit, 2 stainless tips, and some hangers and I'm looking at over $400. Nuts.

maybe not, but it is when your laid off. I've thought about getting it to the mufflers, and just turn it down under the car. then finish the rest later.

if you go to the Youtube line on the site I linked, it has a red 5.0 mustang with 3 inch Ultra Flow's. Sounds awsome.

wonder how dumping in front of the wheels or under the car will change it.

I almost pulled the trigger last night. I got to the last screen at Jegs and I was at like $460+ counting taxes. Better make sure the lady is cool with that first.

couple more questions though. I'm going with the ovals. Can I expect the same sound and performance from the ovals that are shaped like the bullets as the ovals that are shaped like the normal style?

What are the positives/negatives to putting a small elbow on the mufflers and dropping it under the car versus out the end or before the tires. My thinking is that I could do this and if I don't like it, I can add on later.
thanks
