here we go again:yes:
I just picked up the motor and trans today:yes: I'll start stripping down the motor tomorrow:yes: I'll be putting an LS1 intake on this one:yes:
Glad to see you picked it up! Finally got some time to figure out and successfully put in my windows, so I will be at Gotellis. Let. Me know when you are installing, not much help, but if I'm available i can help.
I'll be parting it out:yes: I'm selling the 383 long block (maybe sold to a friend already) then selling the TPI intake, distributor, painless wiring, computer, and all relays as a unit:yes:
Well, Brian (Nova404) stopped by and helped me drill out a couple broken bolts on my head:yes: we installed the F body harmonic balencer and drilled the hole needed for the F body alt bracket and installed that too:yes: I figured out belt routing without the power steering, now I just need to buy a belt:yes:
I've been ordering small parts for the swap also:yes: I'm going to try and pull my existing motor out this weekend:yes:
Another thing, don'tcha just love the low alternator mount?? I do! keeps the engine bay looking Clean. Just ordered mine from Chevy2Only for my SBC.
actually, I used "wet naps" they're these hand wipes that we use at work, they're called grunge wipes:yes: we just wiped and scrubbed the whole thing:yes: mine was pretty dirty too:yes:
i wish i could have done my harness with the engine on a stand, i was in college and built my harness in my dorm when my nova was still at the parents, so i have stock location for everything, just misc deleted! i'd like to reroute the harness eventually.
That's the same way I did my belt. You'll have to grind the lower alternator bracket bolt head to get the belt to clear. Well, at least me and another guy I know had to do that. No big deal. Haven't had a problem with mine.
I'm hoping to pull out the old motor and trans this weekend, then I can start my gas pedal mock up.
