Blueprint Engines
Base 355ci Vortec
385HP & 405 ft/lbs TQ
anyone have info on that motor? anyone have one? anything?
that one or the 383 are both lookin golden for me. just wanna get some info before i act upon it!
i was goin off of price/hp best deal wise.
unless you think it would be easier to pickup the 290hp gm one, and put new heads, cam/lifters, pistons (only has 8.5:1cr) etc.
i like the 385hp factor. getting that out of the 290 gm engine, wouldnt that run you alot more than the blueprint price?
also, anyone heard of chevy-350-engines.com?
it seems to be an okay deal. i know i could get a good motor if i rebuilt one from the block up, but i dont have the time, i'm a full time student, and i work 30 hours a week too. i want my car to be bad, just dont have the time to do it myself yet. trust me i'm not lazy. just the mixture of college and my work (construction),i cant find the time to build the motor i want. so any help would be great!
i did check it out, it looks good. but then again, one year warranty compared to 2.5 year warranty on the 355 w/385hp, they also have a 383 with 405hp for pretty much the same price. whats the quality on year one motors?
As far as their reputation and quality, I've never had a quality issue, they seem to be more expensive on other restoration parts than other companies I've found. But quality has never been an issue in my experience. I'd suggest calling them to ask about their engine, who builds them, etc. That'd be good information for others here too.
