i just purchased a 1975 nova. the ac compressor and hoses are gone.i dont want ac but i do want heat. i can turn the fan on and can hear a fast ticking sound but no air coming out. im only 21 so i dnt got alota experience can someone lead me in the direction of getting my heater to work
If you are hearing a ticking sound, then you know you have power. I would suggest taking the fan motor and fan out and looking at them. See if the motor is turning. Has the car been sitting up? You may want to look for a rat nest in the fan. I had one get into my heater fan and build a nest a few years ago. It sounded like the fan was going to blow apart everytime I turned it on. Took it out and it was obvious what the problem was. You might also want to check the relay that is on the cover by the fan motor.
thanks. im gonna tear into it this weekend. the car sat for awhile and the guy said some rats got into the car so im guessing i got some rats in the heater unit and/or ducting. thanks for the help. anymore advice is welcome
