V8 exhaust manifolds hitting?

I dropped a 307 out of a 1968 Chevelle into my 1963 Nova. When I started this project I was told it would fit by just changing the pan and mounts. Now I find the manifolds are hitting on both sides. The drivers side is hitting the steering box and I can't even bolt up the passengers side because it hits the frame. Do I have to change the manifolds to another style or use headers? Thanks as usual, Rich!

Don't know what the 307 came out of, but chances are the exhaust manifolds won't fit a first generation Nova on the swap. '64-'67 Nova V-8 manifolds are what you want (there are a number of flavors of those, including ones that have a bracket for A/C, a choke heat tube, A.I.R. injector ports, etc.), but they will fit. Apparently, there are some from Chevrolet trucks from the '60's that will do it too. I'd check threads on this site, as there have been a number of posts about which manifolds will fit.

That said, headers will cut down on search time for the manifolds, and there are a bunch of header manufacturers that have made headers for this car and a small block Chevy V-8.

Look up 70-72 blazer manifolds. I believe they will work. Not sure about brackets though

So it sounds like the consensus is that I need to use ram horns but I think I need the angle dump, not straight and I also need accessory mount holes on the drivers side. Anyone have any or just the drivers side?

These are angle dumps. My 67 has a passenger side alt bracket that doesn't bolt to manifold. I plan to use the angle dumps from a 70 c10

I see a l few ram horn sets online that have the bolt holes but they are all straight dump, does anyone know if I can get away with them on my '63?

What accessories are you using? Just an alternator?

The power steering pump is forward of the alternator. I am just concerned about the steering linkage directly below the center of the manifold. Is there enough room for a straight dump ram horn.

The truck manifolds are both angled back. They will fit as long as you don't need the brackets on the manifold
