Any tricks to get trim parts molded carpet to lay flat?I know to leave it out in the sun for a couple of days...are the any other tricks?thanks bm
ps...this is for the 67
I seem to recall heat-gunning the back of one once & then a piece of plywood with a couple of bricks on top to apply pressure.....
Left it that way for a few days and it stayed flat.........
errrrrr...... I got hella tricks for carpet. It's early in the morning so I'll try to remember them all...
work from center out,
lay in the sun ( already said ),
if your gonna glue, ( heat the center then lay it like your pealing a plastic film.
use a awl to poke your holes from the bottom up,
with the carpet out I use a spot welding drill bit to remove a little material from the sound dentoner,
carpet all layed out in the car, use awl to poke hole from the bottom up then use a old sodering iron or a cheap one. follow the awl back down to the hole. it will melt the carpet and make a very nice hole for your bolt.
DO NOT DRILL CARPET. it will snag and put a run in it.
thats it for right now. I really need some coffee..
sorry if its jibberish.
