wheel/tire combo cbr front kit on 63 wagon

Hey everyone, here's my problem. I can't seem to figure out what size rim i could run on the front of my wagon. I have the cbr kit but kept my stock shocks and coil springs. I got the cpp 2" drop spindles with zero offset rotors. When i try and mock up a wheelrite tool with a 17" rim and 4 1/2 backspacing it hits the lower tie rod. So does this mean i need less backspacing or a bigger size rim? I'd like a fat tire on the front and rear, but anything will work. Any help please, the car is done and ready for the road and i can't drive it. It's driving me nuts..... Rim size, backspacing, offset, anything please.....
Thanks
Jacob

Welcome from Wisconsin! Pics? You might want to use this part of the forum for your introduction, and for a better response to your question, put that in the Wheels and Tires section. Good luck finding your answers.
