The prices some people are willing to pay for some of this stuff is crazy. Must be the Barrett-Jackson syndrome or something. One upmanship with their buddies maybe?
The seller bought this from stangs4sale for over a grand about 2 months ago. I have been in contact with this fellow and he says that he has an original L79, and money seems to be no problem.
George, any idea what it might cost to restore that pitted monster? I assume the chrome has to be removed, all the pots filled with low heat solder, then ground down and sanded smooth before re-plating. My 66 metal tail light bezels weren't nearly as bad as this mirror, but it was a labor intensive, expensive job to restore them.

Not a "remote Mirror" ? A standard mirror but I haven't seen a remote mirror repop yet. That's why your seeing these things go for crazy money.!!
I missed out on this one because I forgot about it. DOH! Remote Mirror And I have the remote handle bezel for it. It's on my car as someone removed the mirror before I bought it. Only they left the door panel bezel. You can sorta see it in here in the upper left hadn corner...
Don't know if it is worth anything or not without the mirror but since I missed the mirror last week I blew it.
The Remote Mirror is available from Car Parts Discount, They have them listed on E-bay for $89.95 BIN. Hope this info will help someone that might need one. They are GM Repo's

The remote mirror that's being sold for novas is a repop for a '67 camaro. The '64-'66 remote mirrors are not reproduced. Which would explain the high prices. I guess.
