Well, my plan to use a sumped tank just got shot down. The offset shackles interfere w/ using mine. I finally have a nice trunk floor and don't want to hack it up. Can someone please either post or email me pics of a fuel cell installed in a '73 or newer trunk, please?!
Not sure if you want to do this but years ago we use to cut the stock tanks in half and narrow them to fit when we moved the springs in. At the same time we added a rear sump to them. The ticket to doing this was to have a radiator shop boil the gas tank so there is no residue inside to go boom. RM
Honestly, I had my share of gas tanks. I already have a(nother) niced sumped tank. I don't want to keep putting money into tanks if a cell can be used.
Not a good shot to see the tank, but I have an aluminum 25 gal. in my 69, and still carry my tools and spare parts and fuel jug in the trunk.
