Car idle/deiseling(?)/cold running issues...

GRRR, I have to open my throttle more and more for the thing to stay at the same RPMs at idle... it would not idle if I were to set the blades to the original position...

also: When I start the car cold, it will run good RPM for a while, then drop terribly! If I put it in drive they go down to the threshold of stalling:confused: it wont stop running, just the RPMs go waaaaaay down... plus it bogs terribly until it gets plenty hot..... the car runs very strong when the motor is hot...

and: At walmart just now I shut it off and the car had a tad of run-on...

Yup....sounds more and more like your timing is slipping (as mentioned in another thread).

Definitely get a timing light on it.

Also, is your vac. advance hooked up to full manifold vacuum, or to a ported source? (Full...full!!!!)

Increase the initial timing some, and you'll be able to back the throttle speed back down, and your dieseling problem should be over.
