Missing E brake parts?

This might be in the wrong section...if so, I apologize.

My 65 came to me in parts and pieces and the e brake cables are just hanging on the ground. I am working on getting the ebrake fixed so I can finally take it for a test drive.

Right now I have a cable that comes from under the floor up front. Inside the car, the end of the cable has a round end/ball on it. Where does this connect to the handle?

Second, that single cable runs out the floor and then has a half moon on the end where I assume the two e brake cables attach. But the rear wheel cables are not long enough for it all to meet in the middle. What pieces are missing? Does the single cable connect the two cables in the middle or towards one side of the car?

Lastly, do my pictures show up in the thread for you? They do not for me (Ive tried imgur and now photobucket) which is why I also include the links to them.

As always, thanks for helping this newbie get his nova on the road.

Don't know that body style, but pretty much the same as mine probably.

Anyways you need the metal link(2) on each side of rear cables. This will allow you to join to the main cable which is missing. This main cable hooks into your half moon piece where you have your adjustment. The half moon piece hooks to the drivers side area of the main cable and the opposite passenger side should have a metal rod/hook that supports the other side of the main cable. So essentially the main cable comes around like a U as it goes from one rear cable and around to the other rear cable.

Looks like you are copying the first one that says "Email & Im".

You need to click on the bottom or 4th box -"IMG" and your pictures will show up.

Thanks to both of you. I am starting to get a visual...

I went to the junk yard and the oldest car they had was a 70 impala. I took the U shaped cable (probably too long), the equalizer bar and some hooks.

Can anyone just snap a quick picture to me of the stock e brake cable set ups underneat your car? I am happy to give you my phone number if texting a pic to me is easier. I just need a visual of the set up and google is of no help.

Here's a link to the 67 Assembly manual...UPC 5 sheets C1, C2, and C3 show the parking brake installation.

JD, thank you! That helps a lot.

It would appear I am missing this bracket (Circled in red on my pic below).

Does this bracket mount to the floor or does it hang via the tension in the lines? anyone got a picture?

Thanks. Yeah, my floors were mostly replaced by the PO so id bet a nickel he "forgot" to reattach the bracket...and that is partly why I am so confused. I think I got it now though as far as how it is set up.

Alright alright. Now I'm getting somewhere.

From my last picture, you can see I DO still have the bracket at the rear. It is ont he left side, just forward of the rear wheel.

LAST question on this (maybe). Rears were converted to disc brakes. The line coming out of the passenger side is not nearly long enough to reach that bracket on the left side. How do I extend it? Or, should I make a new bracket in the middle of the car?

this picture shows I do in fact still have the bracket.

Update for anyone that stumbles upon this in the future (I hate searching threads and reading the entire thing only to find the op never came back to tell what fixed the problem).

You all probably knew this already but the cable that comes from the rear wheels is ONE cable, not one cable each wheel like in my original pictures. I ordered the cable and after a few mods to the ebrake cable coming from inside the cab (it wasn't long enough, or the rear cable was too short), I have an e brake.

Almost time for a drive.

Missing E brake parts

I have a 63 SS HT that too is missing E-Brake parts. I need the E-Brake cable guide (3991966)and clamp (3791967) that is located under the drivers side floorboard. In addition I need the clip (3791130)that clamps the rear passenger E-Brake cable to the rear end/pinion bumper bracket. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would thankful.

First off welcome to the site. You should be able to get most of the parts through Chevy II Only, Walts Classic Novas or you can post an add in the wanted section here but I think there is a minimum post count ( or perhaps that is just if you are selling.)
