67 SS parking brake handle

What is the parking brake handle supposed to look like on a 67 SS. Is there a different one for A/C and non-A/C cars. The one I have is T shaped but it seems wrong cuz its easy to hit your knuckles on the screws that hold the bracket to the dash.

Ok, thats the handle I have. I don't have A/C so I may go back to the other handle cuz I'm tired of scraping my knuckle.

You should be able to change just the handle, most suppliers have these available

Wasn't the t-handle used on both A/C and non-A/C cars in 67?

'66 and '67 parking brake handles without A/C are different than the first gen handles, although they will interchange. Plain with no "BRAKE" on handle for'66 and '67.http://www.ebay.com/itm/251228358432...84.m1423.l2649

Quite a few people (including me) switched to the T handle back-in-the day because the regular handles cracked and bent too often.

My car has the "T" handle as well. I think that it was a fix from 66 as soo many "L" handles broke or bent so they put these on a Standard in 67. Only my guess.

I'm not a numbers matching type, but I want the interior to look correct. Since others seem to have the T handle without A/C, I think I will leave it because it does look stronger. My 64post in high school had a wooden knob the previous owner made in wood shop class to replace the broken handle.
