Any ideas on ways to increase site speed

First, this is not a complaint.

After reading another post about site speed, I saw the response that it was not the site but rather it was the users problem.

I also have been having extremely slow load times. I have timed the load time for the last 2 weeks or so when I click a page or change topics etc. I have had a fast load of 6 seconds and a long wait of 38 seconds. Most all have been coming in at 21 or 22 seconds.

I find myself not browsing threads anymore because it takes to long

I use my work computer, same one I have used for the last year. We HAVE to clear all internet cache every day, no cookies stored etc as part of our security. I also run a anti malware program once a day, have Symantec automatically run a scan every day ect.
I work with huge files that get passed back and fourth so we can not afford to have anything slow as it has a big impact on productivity.

Is there anything else that the Admin could suggest to help speed me up? I run into the same issue on my desk top at the office as well as my laptop which I am on now for remote connection.

Again, I am not complaining. Also, if you had a way for us to oficially show the load times I would be happy to share that as well.

I understand that it may be frustrating when the site appears to be operating slow, but if you are using a work computer to access the interest I would have a ton of questions. For example, is your work computer directly connected to the net, is it connected to your own work/department network and your work/department connected to the net. You may not know this, so you may need to talk to your IT department. What time of the day are you connecting when it is slow? etc, etc, etc.
