Does anyone have the part number to the pilot bushing thats supposed to be used with muncie and LS motors? also i have seen some pretty clean ls installs in a 66 with headers, wheres the best place to go to get headers without spending 1K or so. Thanks

At the present time there are no off the shelf headers available............at this time.

I see I need to read a little better you are using an aftermarket clip, I was referring to a stock clip.

Street and Performance makes a nice set of coated mid length for about 550.00 that work for CA, TCI and Heidt's. Do a search on LS1Tech....some there have done the Muncie mod....

Hmm...let's see, Chuck figured out solutions for the rack and pinion deal, a-arms etc......I don't know, but I would bet you a dollar he is either working on some already, or has a set about finished....

My money's on Chuck for sure......

Thanks for the info TomM, your 66 is really nice, looks like you took alot of time with the wiring among other details.

A member here worked with TCI on developing LSx long tube headers for aftermarker clips. They look very nice and are reasonably priced. Try calling TCI about them.

I have a Muncie behind my LS1 in my '62 and used a GM pilot bearing recommended over on LS1tech.com. I would use the extended bushing next time, I think it just fits better. Do a search over at LS1 tech.com or contact Ram or another clutch manufacturer, one of them has the bushing you are looking for.

By being on both Steve's and LS1 tech I had a fairly easy time getting mine runnng. It started right up too..

Thanks for all the help, greatly appreciated, in case anyone else is looking the pilot bearing GM part no. is 12557583. Now for the long tubes , KCmocarguy, did you use the slave throw out bearing or external slave? i have to mount the master on fire wall with 67' 9" brake booster.....its a challenge and the last one before motor goes in, everything else is good to go.

I have mechanical clutch linkage in my car, no hydraulics. If it doesn't work out I will go with a slave and master cylinder. Are you sure the 9" booster will work? Even a 6" dual would be really tight on mine. I went with no power, Corvette master cylinder.

yeah, i'm thinking its gonna be snug but it should clear, but i cannot confirm this yet, if i can get out thier today i was going to drop it in so i can check that and the pan, which i suspect will needed to be changed to the h3 pan.
what are you running as far as front end? and do that make a bracket for block side z bar or was it fabbed? i considered mechanical but i figured one day i would want the tremec and so i went with hydraulic now.

Any good detail shots of how you mounted the clutch master w/ a 9" booster? How did you reinforce the firewall? What's the pedal connection look like?

I have a TCI clip. I am really surprised that a 9" booster fits. I custom made all of my mechanical clutch link except the pedal.

I still have to mount the hydraulic master, taking my time on this one because everything is pretty tight but i have the muncie trans bracket done, using a wilwood slave cylinder, machine shop water jetted the parts for a reasonable price. what ever brackets i make i have in Pro/E with drawings but i want to make sure everything works right first.
