Steve's Nova Site is an automotive enthusiast website dedicated to the 1962 - 1979 Chevrolet Nova, Chevy II and Acadian automobiles. We work together to preserve, restore, drive, show, race and provide fellowship for these classic cars. This is one of the best places to find information about parts, rebuilding, restoration and racing. This website is not affiliated with GM, General Motors or Chevrolet in any capacity.
hey guys, i'm currently working on a 69 that has air conditioning. i was told from a friend of mine whom i consider the most knowledgable nova man i know, ( he currently owns two II's and a nova, and has had umpteen others in his time), that air was not available until '70 not as an option or otherwise.
is this true? was there a half year model in '69? this project is not a build its a restoration and originallity is of utmost importance to make this one work. any info and or references you fellas can provide would be greatly appreciated!
I see why GM didn't make a BB Nova with AC.I'm using the factory AC on a 69 with a BB engine.Car was a 350.It has took some time to get the pulleys worked out and I'm able to use the 5 blade fan just like an original BB would use! As far as I can tell the AC is just like a 69 camaro except the condenser.I got the repo fiberglass evaporator box for a BB.

Do you know of a good place to install Vintage Air? They recommended Horton's Hot Rods in Milton I e-mailed and they have not responded yet...
I bought mine at Horton's and installed it myself.Talk to Tony he is a very helpful guy.I had alot of trouble with my install as it was wired up wrong from the factory and it wouldn't fit properly under the dash on my 68 .It is working okay ,I had to redo the wiring , but you can really see the difference in the gas mileage when it is on.I put mine in last year.If you get the one with heat/AC, the heater is not as good as the original GM one.
