Nah, it's not too bad compared to modern cars. A word of advice: drop the steering column to be able to get the cluster out and be gentle with it - we're talking about 40 year old plastic here. If it doesn't budge, its still connected to something!

X2^^^ it's fairly straight forward, undo the cover under the column, undo 2 bolts holding the column, allow it to drop, remove all the screws holding the dash (one where the driver door is) gently pull it forward and disconnect the speedo cable, unplug the wires and remove. The vent controls will stay with the car, but will need to be undone.

I bought that tach a few years ago and it looks great in the dash....looks like a factory tach for the non-purists out there!
What would really be neat is to figure out how to mount a small red light in the stem-hole to act as a shift-light.
I have two things running off my keyed power source pin on my fuse box. I was thinking about adding a second fuse panel just for keyed power source. Does this tach require a keyed power source?
