Anyone have any experience with this engine in stock form? How streetable is it? The dyno chart is pretty impressive and it looks like it will work perfectly for what I want to achieve.
I'm also thinking for a grand less it might be better to go with the 480 hp model.
Below five grand there's not much difference besides the one grand out of pocket. If they were from any other supplier I would be skeptical but I don't think you can go wrong either way.
Yup! I'm thinkin' the 480 will work out on the open course and when I'm killin' cones! I can spend the grand that I save on a trick drive system like the one from Eddy Motorsport.

It is my understanding that the 515 and the 525 use the same ASA cam. The 480 has a different cam I believe. I am using a 1050 cfm holley three barrel carb with modified boosters to provide the correct carb signaling. You can see the modified venturi boosters in the below photo. The original ones are to large to give the carb correct velocity/signalling.
$7500 is a lot to pay for no accessories or harness/ecu. Find a 6.0L with accessories and harness for $2,500, put some L92 heads ($600) and LS3 intake ($250) on it, and toss in a decent cam ($500), and you'll hit 500 hp easy. Hell, you can find an LY6 (6.0 VVT motor w/ L92s) for pretty cheap, and then you just need a cam and intake. Here's an example -- LY6, LS3 intake/injectors, Vengeance Stage II LS3 cam (227/239 .614/.624 115+3), stock lifters, valves, rocker arms. He put down 400 lb-ft and 414 hp through a 4L80e (an absolute power hog). That's a conservative 500 hp and 480 lb-ft at the crank.
Hmmm...not a bad idea.....I already have a set of L92 heads,LS7 dry sump pan and an intake. All I would need to do is take the timing chain cover off and replace the LS3 oil pump with the LS7 one along with using the dry sump pan rather than the LS one. That and replace the stock heads with the L92's I have. The only thing I would need to buy would be a cam then.....
I have the LQ9 6.2 in my 2010 silverado 1500 ltz 400 horse version I cannot
fathom what these engines will do in a early nova I have to keep the traction
control on all the time or I will get into trouble I have the 6 speed automatic
also. these engines are so smooth!! 3:42 rear gear ratio you can really suprise
people out of the hole!! revs quick and pull really hard and this in a pickup.
I have 63 nova with l-79 327 motor wicked built scary fast!! I cannot imagine
that 6.2 litre under the hood hope you have really good seatbelts and big budget
for rear tires!!
DUDE i have heard some of them corvettes with an aftermarket cam in it! DAMN it sounds pretty freaking good! nice rumble to it  you gotta put a sweet cam in that thing
That's really nice! After having looked at the engine bay I may not have enough room for an aftermarket drive setup so I need to get creative with the stock one and see how I can dress it up a bit.
So John, what are you putting this in, is it the Nova? I hope you are finally making some progress. I have been waiting to see the mother of all Novas finally on the road.....
LOL! Yup! Going in the Nova! Only one mistress at a time!!!
Now that things have gotten better with my business I'm starting to see some fun funds that I can use to finish the car with!!
John
