Can anyone say if this is firethorn red? I always thought that the mirrors were color keyed to the main body color, not to the black seen in the SS window surrounds.

Attractive, but not original.
I spotted non-original:
outside mirror paint
steering wheel
rocker covers
manifold (and likely carb)
air filter
exhaust
Otherwise, she's a looker.

Steering wheel is correct. Outside mirror paint is correct. As mentioned, carb, intake, valve covers and air filter are incorrect. Wheel center-caps are also incorrect.
Nice car!

I can't and won't speak to the originality issues, but it's an awfully good-looking car. Even if those things are non-original, it seems to me that all of those pieces could be brought back into original with little expense.
On a sidenote, I have visited the car lot that's selling this car. This place is a semi-famous hotspot in Cedar Rapids that deals in all sorts of old cars - restored, originals, street rods, resto mods, you name it. They typically deal in first class cars, not junk, and have a shop attached that does extensive mechanical restoration work. I don't know aboutwho, if anyone, does their paint and body work, but usually the cars at this lot are top notch. It's almost more of a tourist attraction than a car lot.
They have a very good reputation throughout the midwest. I would be very confident in buying a car from them, original or otherwise.

It does appear to be really clean. Even the interior is really, really nice. But do you think the paint resembles or even come close to the original firethorn red?
