Gas Cap Question

Were there two different gas caps or filler lengths for the chevy II's. I have a 1963 and I found a chrome gas cap for a 62- 67 which seems will not fit..The cap that's on the car seems to have a longer male end that goes down into the filler neck than the chrome cap..

I believe 62-64 isthe short style 65-67 is the longer style.You can use a filler neck from the later cars if you want to use your chrome cap

The 62-64 caps & 65-67 caps are also clocked differently, so the handle on the cap won't finish out correctly if they were cross-matched. As Nova404 said, you can change the filler necks to which ever one you want.

You can also go get the correct gas cap and not have to change the filler neck.:)

Do you of anyone who stocks them...I've tired several places but they all seem to stock the ones for the 66-67 models...

Chevy2Only has both original style paintable and chrome gas caps for 63 Chevy IIs.
