I don't mean to be a smart *****, but what exactly do you mean by "best". We'll need more specifics about the car and it's intended use.

Original heavy duty suspensions came with multileafs, but most aftermarket racing spring manufacturers build monoleafs.

OK. sound's good. hear we go I have a 63 that had the drop-out differential (the one that looks like a 9 inch) that diff. when down so I'm replacing it with a 8.5 10 bolt, out of a 65 nova it came with mono leaf springs and what I have are multi leaf springs now I guess what I want to know is what would be better to use? the car now has a 327-375 hp with a Th350. it will see the track some times. what i don't want is for it to be bottoming out on the road

As long as both sets of springs are stock stuff, I'm gonna say try the multi leafs first. Unless they're very old and worn, they "should" give you a more firm ride. Of course they may also make the car sit a little higher than you like.

If I may suggest, put some good quality adjustable shocks on, you'll be glad you spent the money.

ps-I'm not a first gen owner, so someone else may know far more about these stock springs than I do. 2nd gens used multi leafs in all the optional suspension packages.
