So i have been really close to finishing my car for about the past 3 months now but work and other situations seem to keep me out of the garage.. just this past month i have spent every spare second working on it and the crowning jewel was getting a set of wheels..

After putting disc brakes on the front my 14's would no longer fit so my nova has been on stands immobile in the garage.. then i took my time on running new brake lines, then comes rebuilding the steering so on and so forth.. basically everything was taking about ten times as long as it should because i could only work on it before i went to bed, and by this time i was too tired to do anything.. then one day my neighbor comes over just like he always does to shoot the breeze and talk about the good old days, i threw in my normal two bits about how as soon as i got the car finished i was gonna buy my favorite set of wheels and then it would be crusin time.. he then gave me some of the best advice.. he said "josh just go buy the d*** wheels and bolt them on, then every day you pass the car knowing that you could be driving it will make you sick" could not have been more true my friends

i realize lots of people have these wheels and im all about being different, but i must say i would not want anything else on my car right now.. In fact i was actually thinking about repainting the car since i really didnt like the way the car looked (i had some old 14 inch centerline solid mags on it) and thought about going matte black.. after a month of saving up and trying to decide what i was gonna do, i just got up one morning, drove up to the wheel store by my house and bought a set..the guy i always deal with has a 68 camaro and gave me a great deal on them too.. and now the paint job just looks right to me thanks to the wheels... funny right

and im not gonna lie, i wake up in the middle of the night and walk out into the garage just so i can look at my car... havent done that since i was a seven year old kid who got a dirt bike from santa clause..

sorry for going on and on but i have a quick question and i want anyones opinion who is willing to reply.. the car is a true matching numbers 118 ss with factory air and factory ps, it has the original 327 that i put an aluminum intake,cs 130 alternator,a set of ceramic hooker super comp headers with flows and 2.5 exhaust so its not like im making it back stock, and i also installed a th350 trans in place of the 2-speed glide and put drilled and slotted disc on the front in place of the drums.. question is, if i know i am not going to use the factory drums, spindles, power steerings, air conditioning with the ac manifolds and all of the brackets, or 2speed, is it a bad idea to sell those items.. meaning if i were to sell the car down the road would having those things really make a difference in the asking price or would it just be extra goodies for the buyer.. id really like to get some more cash so i can replace the carpet, door panels, and a couple other odds and ends, id really appreciate all of your help.. and sorry about the longest post in nova history but i got excited

Hell yeah .... your car looks great. I could see myself sleeping in the garage just to wake up and see it.

The car looks great!!! As far as the goodies, it's hard to say and would really depend on who is buying the car I guess. Because the car has the original block in it there is a possibility that it would find it's way back to original one day (not really likely though as good as it looks now). The A/C could be a big selling point I would think. I've read a few posts about people going through lots of headaches trying to put the a/c setups in their cars and not being able to track down all the parts. I wouldn't be able to say either way but you could probably get decent money for the air setup if you have everything, the other stuff probably isn't going to bring much.

yea i noticed complete power steering setups going for 75 bucks all day long on ebay... sure do wish those would have been around when i was trying to peice mine back together !

ps i just noticed that water hose is still in my front yard in the exact same place.. maybe its time for a little time away from the nova ;)
