I keep having a leak around the end of the metal peice on my power steering hose. Ive tried putting an o-ring around the metal peice before i screw it in but to no avail.

This is what mine looks like.

You must be talking about the flare fitting correct??? If so this was not designed for an Oring and will leak with one in place... As for it leaking with out O ring check to see if the flair isnt damaged or rusted also check that the flair seat in the box isnt damaged or a hunk of dirt isnt down there.

Sometimes you can fix the problem by getting a copper cup washer. They are shaped like the inverted flare on your tube. They are very soft copper so they compress into the seat and will stop the leak in most cases. You can buy them in all different sizes at a hydraulics supply store. We have a place in Spokane called the House of Hose where I get them. Cool name huh?

I took the o-ring out and checked the flair on the hose, everything looks good but when I hook it up and start the car it still seeps out.
