Possible parts car for me?
We were coming home from a car show and this car jumped out at me about 1/2 mile from the road!
It is the most rotten tore up car I have seen!
It looks like someone stabbed the interior(blue) a million times with a knife.
The body looks as it it was wrapped in duct tape and left to rust.
It does have some trim I need.
Im going to see if its for sale or not Monday.

The front doesn't look too bad. It would be good for stuff like brackets, core support, trim, bezels, hood, lights, harness, and other stuff like that.

It's not for sale. They're going to fix it up some day. Or at least that what they always tell me.

Looks to be a 69. I found an Old 69 at a guys house over by my Dads. The car had been sitting for about 10 years and all the tires where flat and sank into the ground. I knocked on the door and this guy about 70+ came to the door. I asked him if the Nova was for sale. He explained that it was his car and he bought it new and he was gonna restore it one day. My dad and I walked away and my dad says to me " All I can say is one of them is not gonna make it ". It is a common story that people are some day gonna get around to restoring the veh. Sadly alot of veh's never get the life they could have.

I looked at a 69 locally that had some promise when viewed from the street.
The owner was willing to part with it, but with a somewhat hefty price tag, it needed further inspection.
When I popped the trunk lid, one of the leaf springs met me at about eye level.

Needless to say, it was a no sale.

I can drive down my street and see a 69 Corvette, 69 Camaro SS, 69 Chevelle SS, Hemi Cuda, and a Dodge Charger that have been sitting and rusting ever since I was a kid. Alof of my unlces have tried to get their owners to part with them and they all say they are going to fix them up one day. Sad to see and you know maybe 1 out of 10 people that say that will. My nova still would be sitting there rusting in the woods had I not bugged my uncles friend to buy it for a month.

Looks to be a 69.

I was thinking 68 because of the parking light lens look more rectangular and the tailites have the reverse lens on the inner side of the light.

69 uses the same lights. Louvers in the fenders and the hood emblem make me think 69. Also if you look at the 2nd pic really close for the door lock on the passenger door interior, it appears to be farther foward. 68's are at the back of the door. I also think 68's came with clear front fender side markers. 69's came with amber. I have 2 68's and both where original. They came with clear sidemarkers and my 69 has yellow.

You can look inside and see where the ign key is. If its on the column than its a 69.

Theres no floor boards.
Yes I think it is a 69 because Cutlass is like that also with the door locks and it also had the key on the column, so 69 it is!!!!

Yes. I have met some people like this. They park the car outside and the car gets worse year after year. These dreams seldom become reality. Its a shame to see a car like this left outside to rot. 20 years ago I sold my 1970 Nova because it needed TONS of repairs and I was starting a family and could not afford to keep it going. I sold it for $100 to a friend and mechanic who wanted to restore it. Honestly, I never regreted that decision. The car is still going and mechanically it is in mint condition. The body needs some help but it is not bad. If I had kept it, I am sure it would have been junk by the time I could afford to do anything with it. As it is, I still get to see that car on occasion and the owner always thanks me for it. He jokes about how he bought the car for $100 and I joke about how he stole it for $100. :) hahaha. However, two years ago, I was in a position to buy another 1970 Nova and restore it. My feeling is that I did what was best for my old 1970! I put 364,000 miles on that car and it was like a friend and it still keeps on truckin!

Well I went to ask about the car today and it was gone.
But I know who owns it and he has 3 of them and restoring one and just needs a few parts off this one so maybe he will sell some stuff off it I need.
More later.
