It's Rare But Is It Worth This Much?

Saw this on the bay. I know those are extremely rare but I wouldn't pay $1,200 for it. That could cover my wheels and tires!

the bids on this piece appear to be "rare" too! NO bids yet...
i don't know this body style very well,but it does seem like a lot of money for a gauge cluster.wouldn't the car's v.i.n. specify whether the cluster was a factory piece or not? if so,i wouldn't spend that much to create a clone.

Nova_Power4.....You may have a tach dash, but you probably do not have the 120mph speedo's that make this thing rarer than hen's teeth. Now if yours have the 120mph speedo than you should be selling them fast!

l know one of them is over 100mph dash lol l picked up in socal for $75 works excelent other just 80mph stock one l "stole" from a parts beater l got for $300

if you have a car that came out of the factory with one of these and you need one to put back in to replace the other or a missing one............ then it is rare but only if you are into the orginal thing.

if not, yes you would have a conversation piece and something that few other have, but at what price. you would have to get a lot of joy out it in that case to make it worth while.

RARE, maybe but back in those days you would be lucky if you had a car that do 90 mph. If you had a car that needed it might be nice to have but geeeeeesssse $1200 dollars I dont think so.

I doubt a complete 78 Nova cop car would bring $1200.00. Just because the car is rare doesn't mean it's worth anything and I have never saw the facination of the cops cars. I know they are rare and have neat parts on them; but other than that???? Take the good parts and use them to fix another car. Most of the cops cars I saw were used as untilitarian tools until they were beat up and used up and were sent to wholesale lot. In my hometown they were often used as taxi cabs until they were dead.

I sure hope you are wrong. About 5 years ago I gave two of them away I got from a friend that used to own a car lot. He would buy auction cars and when Novas would come in he would let me take what ever parts I wanted off of them. I wish he was still in business.

How about bumper guards? I have a set of bumper guards on my car also. I didn't know that they were rare. Someone once told me that Taxi Cabs and the Cop Novas shared bumper guards.
