I GOT A CHEVY 396 AND WAS JUST CHECKING TO SEE WHAT THESE MOTORS ARE WORTH. iT WAS RUNNING TEARS AGO BUT IT HAS BEEN SITTING UP FOR ABOUT 4-5 YEARS NOW.

will depend on what block it is and what heads intake it has,,also if its a 4 bolt or 2 bolt........also casting date's will tell you alot and what if the code on the front of the engine, will tell you what it came out of, car or truck, john

As mentioned we need to know casting #'s, date codes, etc. A typical 396 is worth anywhere from 200 to 500 for a rebuildable core, more than that if it's a specialty engine such as an L78 or an L89.
