1/2" studs in a 7/16" axle

When shortening my rearend, I sent my axles back to Moser to be cut and resplined. While they were shipping the axles back to me, I decided to convert to 4 wheel disc brakes and the Wilwood instructions call for 1/2" wheel studs to properly center the rotor. Of course my axles are 7/16". Has anybody run into this and what did you do? I don't have a tap and die set so I am wondering if I could drill out the stud holes and just press fit in the larger studs?

The Wilwood disc brake hats are drilled for both 1/2 and 7/16 studs. They only recomend using 1/2 studs. I've been using 7/16 studs with no problem.
