Its be a while since I have posted, but here's the skinny. I've pretty much have finished the install of my TCI front clip on my 62. And this is what I've run into. After installing the front springs and all the other components the front end sets up pretty high. I know from all the other post is that I must let the spring settle a little, well I really don't believe that it will settle that much. Anyway the spring that I have came with a green dot on it and I guess that means that I have the 350 rated springs. My question to you is that should I cut a 1/4 coil or a 1/2 coil to get the right ride height. Or should I buy some 300 spring instead. Over all pretty satisfied with the TCI clip other that this spring thing. I have a small block with aluminum heads and aluminum radiator and yes, I have put all the other parts on to see if it goes down or not. And it did not go down. I will post some pictures soon. Thanks to all of you for you help.:D

I would buy new springs with the correct rate.

The difference between 300# springs and 350# springs will be minor, and there's no guarantee what the ride height will be. 350# springs are actually pretty light if you're building a turner.

I had the same problem, I ended up cutting around a half coil but I did it two inches at a time until I got the height I wanted. I drove the car for around 100 miles until they settled before cutting them.
I also purchased some springs that I thought were correct, but they had alot more floating when I drove and I didn't like them.

I would not cut the spring. i would install everything and drive the car. Then buy the softer springs if it does not settle down th your likeing. Can you take any preload out of the shocks?
