I am happy to say the car was picked up Saturday morning and as of today, the shop is already starting work on it. When I asked how long he was thinking about it and I blurted out "six months?", and he said no way, much less. We'll see. I don't trust anything body guys tell me anymore. The good thing is I have known this guy since i'm 15 and he knows what the car means to me. He was talking about lead work on the sail panels, proper seam sealing, undercoating the underside and wheel wells, which is a good idea here at the shore, etc. I got a good price for the work too. Since I told him I want the car in the body shop only once, he advised to lay on some extra clear coat (for protection during reassembly), then after its all together, get it wetsanded and finished up.

I am going with metallic silver with some really light purple/blue flames on the hood. My goal is to finish this car before I am 40. Looks do-able. Last week I had an oversized shed built in my yard so now the garage is nothing but a workbench and toolbox. Things are really starting to get going. Little by little, I am going to bring the dozen or so boxes of parts out of my basement and start to restore them so they will be ready for assembly. Anyone in the area is welcome to stop by. Steak on the grill for all those who are interested in lending a hand.
