Ever since I replaced everything on the front end, I developed an issue with
the car sitting un even on 2 corners, keep in mind that everything is brand new: Shocks,Springs,Bushings,Steering Componants,Ball Joints, calipers, rotors...Etc. Removed Front Sway Bar.....
On the last outing to the track the car was leaning...HARD, I thought we discovered that the Pass. Front spring was out of the pocket, pulled every thing apart and made sure it was in there this time...still have the same issue.
Today, I jacked the front of the car up, with tires and front suspension hanging, I loosened the lower control arm bolts and set the car on the ground. Hoping to solve the issue mentioned and gain some travel....
What did I do wrong when i rebuilt the front end?
I am almost positive its the pass side coil spring, but not sure what to do with it..
I am half tempted to pull the pass spring and cut a 1/4 coil +/-.
Driver Front Perfect ride height for the car
25 Inches From Ground To Fender Lip
5.5 Coils Showing
897 LBS These weights were before the rebuild, they should be lighter now.
Pass Front To High by 1 inch
26 Inches
5 Coils showing
910LBS
Driver Rear To low due to the pass front being to high pushing it down
24 Inches
839LBS
Pass Rear Perfect height
25 Inches
796 LBS
25 inches on all 4 corners would be GREAT....
I un bolted the front shocks, to see if they were hung up or bad new parts. nothing...no change....
When I installed all the new front componants I tightened
the Control Arm bolts upper and lower with the suspension hanging, ball joints in with brakes and tires on.
I also cut ONE coil off of each spring.
The rear shocks are Ranchos 9 way adjustable and I tried to adjust those to assist in shifting. But nothing... Should I Unbolt the back shocks to see if its one of those. They are New as well.
This week I will be installing Calverts new 90/10 Front shocks, I would like to level this thing out some before the new shocks go in...... its looks NASTY..
Whats up? Any Suggestions?
Thanks

You don't want to tighten the control arms and shackles with the suspension hanging. lossen them up and support the car's weight by the suspension, either by setting the car on the ground or putting jackstands under the axle and control arms. Then retorque the bolts.

Did and done.....uppers and lowers...re tightened it with car sitting on the ground.
Gained a little travel
but the car still sits one inch higher on the pass side than the driver.
Confused....................
I dont have shackles in the rear, I have Affco sliders. The rear was completed before the front, all was fine before I Re did the front over the winter.....

when you say "springs" do you mean coils or leafs? is your car a mono or multi leaf. if multi, check the them to see if one or more of them are cracked or broke. best of luck.

Coil springs on front, and leafs on the rear..........
Rear= ALL NEW Calvert Racing.....Split leaf monos' on Affco sliders, caltracs, rancho 9 way adjustable shocks. I do not have shackles.
Front= ALL NEW....Affco Low friction ball joints, Upper and lower CA bushings,
Moroso Trick Coil Springs, Lakewood 90/10 Shocks
I did not do the suspension upgrades together, I did the rear last fall, and all was fine and level with the old 35 year old front suspension.
I replaced the front over the winter, and now can not get it level again.
After I posted this thread earlier, I went out again and loosened everything on the front end, shocks, upper and lower control arm bolts and lowered the car, retightened everything with the weight of the car on the tires, on the ground.
Still no change.
It has to be the coil springs......pass side needs cut again to lower that side 1 inch?????????......

I would rule out the obvious first. Make sure both coil springs match.

I was just going to suggest that as well. I'm guessing you got sent 2 different parts. Or maybe it was just your luck that you got one defective spring that doesn't have enough resistance.

If you didn't change anything in the back and you didn't change the lower control arm, then I would be at a mismatched or defective spring as well.
One thing to check. There are long ball joints to make the spindles appear longer. Make sure your ball joints are the same and have seated the same on the spindles.

Are both of your springs sitting in the upper and lower "pockets" correctly? You might have an spring end sitting on a stop which could raise that side.

You could switch them one side for the other and see if anything changes.

While you have them both out, but a couple of hunderd pounds on them and see if they compress the same.

I guess that means me...........LOL
Do you think the coil spring compressor attached to the springs and turned the same amount, and measure the spring, would do the same?.......

Yes, they have an extra long ball joint to make the spindle appear longer. It's improves the camber change on the third gens. I believe they are made by AFCO, but not 100% sure. I think they are 1/2 longer, so if used on the upper and lower, you will get a 1" taller spindle.

a couple things come to mind, 1. maybe your springs were not the identical rate, and when they were cut, even tho you cut the same, the rates will be way different. 2. have the frame checked by a reputable shop. the spring pocket could be higher on the right due to sagging in the center cradle. on mine when they aligned the front end the shop put a wedge in the center of the frame and pulled down on the sides to get it even. they told me it was a common thing on subframe cars. my .03
