I'm new here and I'll post some pictures and show the build log of my Nova. I have a few questions though. I'd like to not pay a ton of money for a rack and pinion setup so I'm guessing someone has tried to match a rack and pinion up before. I'm looking to see what the options are. Post what you got.

Thanks guys

ive got one, big waste of money. i actually figured out what car they've been using the rack off of but still spent some coin switching to it, but i would rather have switched to the delphi box and kept all my stock stuff..

my biggest issue with the rack is you loose alot of turning radius. i caint even make a u-turn without backing up and straightening it out. place it hangs about 2" off the ground...ill take it off here soon and sell it to someone so i can get the box i want and buy all new stock steering parts.

Theres some pix on my photo page of my 72 r+p
even with a spool I can turn pretty well its only when you try a tight turn its a little tough.

I believe there is a post in the Best of Tech for Steering and Suspension that talks about putting a Chevette (I know..haha) rack and pinon in.

I Picked one up at the GM dealer and sent it to Lee power steering for him to go over it. He gave it the same treatment as he gives the box from ATS. I got my box for nearly nothing because of a connection I have. Tom lee charged me $100 for labor and $8 for parts.... BTW The ATS box is nothing special just the same thing as me and you can get from Tom Lee and dont let ATS tell you differant. BTW was I right about the steeroids.....
