I just converted to a factory shifter with a console. Is the P-R-N-3-2-1 lens supposed to be backlit? And is there any sort of indicator that points to the appropriate gear on the lens?
Thanks

Joe 12th-May-2008, 02:17 PM First let me say that Rodney knows alot about these cars and there could be two designs of the plate.I have owned a few console cars and none of them had a indicator. The Shifter Handle just lined up withe the letter/number.I just looked at a extra plate lens and dont see how a indicator/pointer could work. There is a backlight. 72NovaSSman 12th-May-2008, 07:50 PM Joe is correct that the console couldnt of had a indicator It would have to stuck through the housing for the backlight and its not slotted. Must have been having a senoir moment:confused::sleep: However the 73 had a cable that ran to the indicator on the dash bezel just like the colume shift 72Orange 12th-May-2008, 10:51 PM Ok, great!
