Camaro rear into Nova?notstock71 9th-May-2008, 09:42 AM Drawing a blank on this one, 78 Camaro rear a direct replacement in a 68-72 Nova?? Mike Goble 9th-May-2008, 10:07 AM No. The 2nd gen rears are wider and the spring perches are in the wrong place. notstock71 9th-May-2008, 11:11 AM That's what I was thinking but wanted to double check. I recall seeing a Nova with a Camaro rear, I thought it was wider but couldn't recall. Thanks for the quick reply. 69LT1Nova 9th-May-2008, 11:45 AM That's what I was thinking but wanted to double check. I recall seeing a Nova with a Camaro rear, I thought it was wider but couldn't recall. Thanks for the quick reply. The first gen (67-69) Camaro rear bolts right in. The 70s Camaros were wider, and the perches are 1" offset. The reason why 68-76 Nova 8.5" 10 bolts and 12 bolts are so hard to find is because the first gen Camaro guys found out they bolt right into their cars. :( ddoyel 9th-May-2008, 06:03 PM I see 8.5 10 bolts all the time! $50-150!!! You can do 31 spline also!!!!!! Tommy 9th-May-2008, 07:44 PM As far as ten bolts wasn't the 8.2 the only option in Nova until 1972 ? I thought the 8.5 came out in Novas in the 72 model year. Tommy :) gimme 9th-May-2008, 08:44 PM this is what happens when people dont ask questions :D http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/car/669969035.html notstock71 9th-May-2008, 08:57 PM Whoever did that work needs to be banned from touching cars. The reason I was asking is I am picking up a 78 Z/28 tomorrow and I'm cutting it to pieces to do rust repair on my 77 Z/28. It kills me to cut up a rust free car but the price is right and nobody makes full quarters. It's a rolling shell with posi rear and complete front subframe. I couldn't recall which gen Camaro rearend fit and which was too wide. | |
