I want to upgrade the cam in my ZZ4 and I'm looking for options other than the hotcam. the ZZ383 is .528 lift, slightly more that .525. However the ZZ383 uses the same springs as the ZZ4 and is rated for .530 lift. What do you guys think. Perhaps Big Al will know for sure

The zz383 cam is Crane's roller block cam, specs are the same same as grind # 119831. Look up those specs for the recommended valve spring specs...I doubt the stock ZZ4 springs will handle it. .002 is cutting it way too close IMO.

Woops...didn't see that they were the same springs...maybe they'll work but I'd double check. The heads on the ZZ383 and the ZZ4 are different so the springs might be installed at different heights. Either way...I wouldn't cheap out on the springs, you may be better off with a bigger margin of safety with some better springs...you might float the valves and well, that's never good.
