i was finally able to get my car out after sitting all winter. i was in the process of painting the car so i haven't had it out all winter. The car started right up, i let idle for a while to warm up and then i pulled it out of the garage. Now, when i rev it up fast i get a bad bad squeal that last for a few seconds and slowly quites down. i have a new belt that is tight and a clutch fan. Could this be a sign of the water pump going bad?

Spray the belt with WD40 and if it goes away the belts are slipping. If they are tight they could be glazed or bad. Water pump usually leaks then the bearings fail so it rumbles. Never heard one squeal myself. RM

The antifreeze level was really low but the car never got hot. also no leaks. so hopefully it is just the belt. thanks RM

Lay off the gas pedal, you're squelling tires bro. Just kiddin, with it settin for a while, there may be a little more strain on the alternator. Bet it's the belt or the alternator itself. Without a leak, probly not the water pump.
