205/6015's work great, and I've got disc's too, I believe the back space is 4.5 and they are 15x6 wheels, stock steeles of early Chevy.

235-60 15's on 15x7 with 4.5 back spacing should fit with no rubbing issues.I think the widest 15 on the front is 15x5. Front fitment varies depending on ride height and if it has drum brakes or disc brakes.

Depending on the maker of the disc kit, the front wheels may fit differently and require a different backspace compared to drum cars.
Some disc kits retain the drum spacing (CPP sells one) and don't move the wheel outward. Others may move the wheel outward 3/4" or less. Those kits will reduce tire/wheel clearance.

I have 205-60-15's on my 63 (rear from a 65). The driver's side tire rubs the inner fender when hitting bumps.

What's the backspacing on your front wheels?? That'll play a LARGE part of any tire rubbing issue on these cars.
A car with the wrong wheel backspacing will require a much smaller tire to make things work properly. People most often run into fit problems when they try to use wheels on the early Nova with less than 4" of backspacing on a 7" wide wheel.
The sweet spot on backspacing is very narrow up front. It's not very good out back either.

1967 HT with stock 10 bolt, stock front end, stock drum brakes on all four corners.
BF Goodrich Radial T/As all the way around on American Racing chrome steel wheels.
All wheels are 15x7 with 4.5" backspacing.
Tires:
Up front: 215/60R15
In back: 255/60R15
No problems with rubbing.

The tire rubs in the rear (driver's side). They also scrubbed on the front after my disc conversion (moved wheels outward) but then I put some washers to push out the bottom front of the fenders and they are alright now.

1967 coupe with stock 10 bolt, stock front end, stock drum brakes.
Fronts are 15X6 w/ 3.5" BS and 195/60-15's
Rears are 15X7 w/ 4.5" BS, and 265/60-15's
Car is lowered 1.5" in front and 1" in back.
Right rear rubs in a turn if you go a little to fast around it due to the rearend being off center to that side.

Ok, since I posted a clarification email earlier rather than a wheel/tire size response as requested, here's the details on my wheel & tire combo:
67 Coupe
Front: 15x7x4.5" BS w/ 205/60-15 BFG TA
Rear: 15x8x5" BS w/ 235/60-15 MT Drag ET Street (245/60-15 BFG TA previously)

265 is realy big for the back, did you roll/cut the wheel well lips way back?Do you have any detailed pictures of the rear tire fitment? I would like to fit a 255-60-15 Mickey Thompson drag radial on the back of mine but I do not want to roll the lips up. I currently have 245's on the rear and just had to cut 1/8 or so from the right rear lip because it would rub slightly on a fast turn.

Hitman,
Sweeeet ride!:thumbsup: Very simialr to mine...until you look at mine up close :awkward:. But mine is a daily driver and I'm OK with the all the flaws. I am thinking of going to 15" wheels and if I do I would go with the same ones you have.
I was looking on the BFG website and they have a 255/60-15 Radial TA but not a 265/60-15. Did they discontnue that size?

Nova 404, I run that same size (not MTs) on the back, and I haven't had to make any mods. You should be able to fit the tires in without rolling or trimming. If it rubs during turns, maybe shifting the rear end to the other side just a bit would solve the problem.
Also, what backspacing are your current wheels? Mine have 4.5" backspacing which seems to be just right.

I have 15x7 with 3.5 rear spacing,My rear has been narrowed 1 inch on each on each side. It came with the car already narrowed. It should work out the same as you 4.5 rear spacing wheels. Thanks for the input

Fellas, I messed up. That should be 245 not 265.
