Running 3onthe tree column with a 4 speed?

Im going to be running my stock 3 on the tree column, with my drag car that has a 4 speed, because money is tight. Has anyone done this? wat do i do about the levers in the engine bay for now? cut them off or leave them alone? please advice thankyou its on my 62 400

Just take the linkage rods off the ears of the column...the ears should not give you any problems....its been done a lot
