Newbie questions!

New to the Forums here, just snagged a 65 Nova SS, less motor and tranny. Car has a Heidts mustang II front clip with the tubular A arms and disc brakes, and the smooth inner fenderwells. Questions: I will be installing a small block and 4-speed, wondering if I can get away with a generic oil pan or if the one specific to the car is needed, even with the new front clip. ALso headers, with the new clip, what will work. The rack is non-power and I wold like to switch it to power steering, and I have seen header issues with the power steering. Are those issues due to the stock configuration, or still with the new clip.
