installing coil springs

i have a 70 nova subframe im working on and i need to put the springs in, its a bare frame so i dont have any weight to play with
any ideas

Heres what I did with mine. I have a long threaded rod that I put a bolt and two large washers on each end then turn the bolts until the spring is compressed, leave it in until everything goes together then remove the rod. Here are some pics.
