66 Steering box grease change

How do you go about cleaning out the steering box of the old grease? The grease in mine looks to be a combination of chassis grease and axle grease, soupy and it smells terrible. Any help would be great.Thanks MrDanO:cool:

Well I just turned the box upside down after removeing the adjuster nut and cover plate. Let gravity do it job to get most of the sloppy mess out, then I used brake parts cleaner and washed the rest clean. Repacked it with grease and put it back togeather. MrDanO:cool:

Must be something not done very often. Glad you figured it out. :D
