Help!

im looking to buy a new engine but i dont know anything about what cam/rockers etc etc to get at all so i need some advice...

i have a 72 nova with a 3.08 posi rear end and a 700r4 tranny

im not looking for a drag engine but just a quick street setup not necessarily for any racing but just to be pretty quick off the line every so often :yes:

So your buying a new engine and have nothing for it yet? They are all SB chevys. The options you would look for would be the ones you want. If you need everything and are not familiar with a lot of it I would recomend finding something more complete.

Or... go to a machine shop/engine shop they sometimes have shortblocks/longblocks for sale like this. And they can set you up however you want it....and deal with the people face to face.

number 1 on the list, ask yourself what am i going to use this car for ? be honest with yourself, everyday to school or work ?week end cruise with occasional tire light ups? how much do you know or want to know aboutt what makes it work? the baddest engine in the world wont be any good if its not used for its intended purpose.imo
