I have a teal motor......in my 73 Nova Custom. The engine code is 3970010 which spells out 350. I dont know anything of the history of the car , and the motor is really clean Teal paint is still real visable, not mired up with grease and oil.......so Im just wondering if it is the original color of the motor or is this an indication that the motor is switched?? Thanks!

73 Block color should have been Orange...........

That 0010 block was a mainstay for a lot of years.......both 2 bolt and 4 bolt versions. From at least the late 60s to late 70s. And thus into the land of GM corporate blue.

I have a 0010 4 bolt block in my 73. Its bright green.

that motor is a desirable motor to hot roders and stock cars. The reason is that block has a high nickel content and thus the casting is really strong. They can be a challenge to find.

I used to think the same thing. But, do a search on this site concerning the 010 block (nickel content/strength) and I think you'll find that this myth has been busted.
